About the Spondon Village Festival

The Spondon Village Festival is organised by a team of local Spondon residents including Angie Doughty, Emma Donald, Lauren Cook and Alan England, supported by a large number of local groups, organisations and businesses.

A key aim of the event is to bring the people of Spondon together for a fun and exciting day of activities and entertainment which showcases all the great things that Spondon has to offer. Spondon has a tradition of bringing people together through big village events such as the traditional Spondon Carnival of old and it's this community spirit that the Spondon Village Festival is hoping to see in bucketfuls on the day.

The first Spondon Village Festival, held in 2010, was a massive success with hundreds of stalls plus fun activities, entertainment and competitions being visited by, it seemed, the whole of Spondon! It achieved exactly what it set out to do - bring the community together and provide a fantastic, fun day out for all the family.

The Spondon Village Festival 2011 took place at Bluebells Dairy, Locko Road, Spondon over the weekend of Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th September, doubling the fun and was again a huge success attended by thousands of people from Spondon and beyond.

The organisers are keen to involve as many local groups,organisations and businesses in the day as possible with many already having signed up to take part. If you'd like to be involved in the next festival, please click here to find out more or contact us for further details.

The Festival is a not-for-profit event for all the community to enjoy. Any proceeds raised during the event are put back into the community to help fund other events and projects in the area. Click here to read some 'thank yous' from the Festival committee.
